EuroSport...how it all started

1994

1994 Originally, EuroSport was established with the idea of stocking and selling imported brands, infact during the first months of operations, the company stocked other sports brands together with a range of gym equipment - imported by Michele Peresso Ltd from the Far East. The first major International sports brand - MIZUNO - was imported.

1995

1995 Early in the year ADIDAS of Germany confirmed Michele Peresso Ltd as their sole distributors for Malta and Gozo. DONIC GmbH (table tennis) gave sole distribution rights to the company. The first full year of operation was a great success and it was during this year that EuroSport started sponsoring programmes with sports athletes and clubs - making it the first company to support local members in the sports world on such a large scale.

1996

1996 Michele Peresso Ltd operators of EuroSport, generally known as Healthcare Company, soon gained great success in its new sports experience. Further expansion was needed and more retail space was allocated reaching 650 m².

The company was granted sole distribution rights for Unicorn Darts UK. Head (Austria) Tennis and Squash rackets. PENN (tennis Balls) and Venier Spa (Cups and Trophies).

1997

1996 EuroSport did not rest on its laurels, and during this year began to stock casual and sports wear from KAPPA - Italy. This necessitated the further extension of shopping area, which also gave scope to the company to stock the full product range of their major suppliers.

1998

1998 Michele Peresso Ltd invested further and allocated another 1050m² of retail space - covering to the full the 1st floor of the company building. The Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Dr Louis Galea inaugurated this new extension which now totalled an area of 1700m². During this year Michele Peresso Ltd started opening franchized shops under the name EuroSport. Also this year Michele Peresso Ltd was appointed sole distributor for Solomon Group - suppliers of tracking and adventure shoes / hardware. SKECHERS shoes were imported for the first time by Michele Peresso Ltd, an American brand manufacturing trendy and stylish shoes.

1999 EuroSport with its spacious retail area, fully airconditioned and friendly service became an automatic choice of quality shopping to many patrons who visited this mega sports shop all under one roof. Another floor, formerly housing the company's offices, was vacated and a technical department was setup, stocking all sports wear in one area. Having now a grand total of 2500m²EuroSport is undoubtedly the best, largest and most equipped mega sports shop in Malta and Gozo.

Thanks to its continuous success and placing ADIDAS as the No1 Brand in Malta and Gozo and through their EuroSport chain of shops, Michele Peresso Ltd. was awarded the ADIDAS Perfomer of the Year for 3 consequtive years: 1997, 1998 and 1999. (This Award was never presented again by Adidas since then).

1999-2000Personnel: 20

2000 The new Millenium meant further new ventures and investments for the company. It was decided that a restructuring program was needed to cope with further challenges, hence it was decided to reduce certain outlets operating as 'franchises' and open its 'own' retail outlets. The first own retail outlet was opened in a major and most expensive shopping high street area in Republic Street, Valletta. This new investment was part of a global restructuring program planned to meet the demands of the future. Michele Peresso Ltd opened other 'own' EuroSport shops in Melita Street, Valletta and another prestigious concept shop in Bay Street shopping mall, St. Julians.

2001

2001 Michele Peresso Ltd opened another important EuroSport outlet in the South of Malta - Paola the capital of the South. Meanwhile the staff at EuroSport, consisting of sales assistants, departmental supervisors and shop managers, now stood at 25, representing 33% of the total workforce of the Company.

2002

2002 A new EuroSport outlet was opened in Attard, now having nine outlets in all including those in Rabat Malta, Victoria Gozo and a EuroSport pro shop at the Marsa Sports Grounds. Michele Peresso Ltd has in all 3280m² of retail space all over Malta and Gozo, out of a total of 5125m².

It is advisable to check your size-fit in the changing room to avoid coming again to exchange the item, even though EuroSport will change any item wrongly purchased by the customers on presentation of both the Original tags attached to the article and the fiscal receipt presentation.

Deposit Facilities
If you would like to leave a deposit on any item, all EuroSport outlets are able to give you this opportunity. The item will be kept for 6 working days. If this item is not collected, a voucher will be issued for the same amount left as a deposit.

Welcoming Environment
All EuroSport outlets are fully air conditioned to let you, our esteemed customer, browse and choose your preferred product in the ideal, spacious and clean ambience. Furthermore, our Birkirkara and Baystreet premises have free drinking water dispensers.

Price Tags

All EuroSport outlets show clearly the sale price attached to the product offered for sale, both in the showroom display and inside the environment. EuroSport strongly believes that the customer has the right to know the selling prices without asking. Therefore all items are clearly price tagged. During sale periods all products displayed show the Normal and Sale prices. We have been doing this from the very first day, way back in 1994.

Exchange of Purchase

EuroSport outlets exchange any wrongly purchased products throughout the whole year, including sale periods. The original fiscal receipt must be presented.

Sales and Promotions

EuroSport organises two seasonal sales - one Autumn/winter and another for Spring/Summer. EuroSport always advices its customers through the media 15 days before the sale starts, so as not to disappoint customers in their purchases. All sales at EuroSport are Honest, Genuine and Credible. That is why thousands of people patronize our outlets.

Stocks Availability

All EuroSport outlets in particular Psaila Str., Birkirkara, stock a wide variety of sport and casual products. EuroSport does not stock only the best selling products - but a much wider range. Complaints Handling

We guarantee that complaints will be entertained within 24 hours from date of complaint. The fiscal receipt showing proof that the claimed product had been purchased from one of the EuroSport outlets needs to be presented with any complaints.

Washing Instructions

To avoid disappointments, it is important to consult with the garment's washing instructions label. As for footwear EuroSport have a wide range of footcare products under the brand name of Tarrago.

EuroSport's commitment to its clients includes a Footscan service, where the customer's individualised foot features are digitally scanned to ensure a customised fit from our wide range of footwear.

Podology Services at EuroSport
Routine Podology Treatment Regular podiatry care should provide treatment of foot conditions like callosities, corns, ingrown toe-nails and protection of pressure areas (eg. By orthotics) and advice on suitable footwear. There is a large number of patients who require fairly regular relief from local symptoms and advice so that comfort is maintained and the development of more serious foot problems is prevented. In these cases, appropriate foot care should be undertaken.

Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is used in the treatment of Verrucae (viral warts). Verruca is a common viral infection of the foot. They are infectious and should be covered at all times, especially in communal changing rooms, to prevent them from spreading. Like other viral infections, they can be difficult to treat. Remedies using acids to burn the Verruca are available from the chemist but may burn the surrounding skin. Cryotherapy is a technique that uses an extremely cold liquid to freeze and destroy abnormal skin cells that require removal. The technique has been in use since the beginning of the 20^th century, but modern techniques have made it widely available to dermatologists and primary care doctors. The technique is also called cryosurgery.

Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound is simply high frequency sound waves above the range that we can hear, used to treat muscular/joint pain. It is applied to the body from the 'head' of an ultrasound machine. A gel is used to help the waves travel into the body rather than be reflected off the skin.

What are the benefits of ultrasound?

• Softens fibrous tissues and scar tissue which are    formed during healing

Orthotic Prescription (Insoles)
Foot orthotics are shoe inserts designed to support, align or improve the function of the foot. Orthotics may be prescribed for your particular foot problem after a comprehensive assessment, taking into account your biomechanics, footwear, occupation and lifestyle factors. They can prevent and alleviate many of the common foot complications that cause discomfort in otherwise healthy people. An analogy can be made between orthotics and eyeglasses. Both adjust bodily imperfections that inhibit people from functioning at their maximum physical potential. In both cases, a physician will do a complete examination and prescribe the proper amount of correction.

Choosing the Right Shoe
to Prevent Foot Problems
The right footwear is essential for healthy feet. There is no such thing as the one perfect shoe. Feet come in all shapes and sizes. Men, women, children, athletes and older people all have different shoe requirements, and these vary considerably from activity to activity. When buying new shoes, it is important to make sure that they are long enough for our feet so that the toes are not squashed. They should also be wide enough for your particular feet to prevent them from squashing from side-to-side, and rubbing of toes. Lastly there should be enough height area in the toe area to prevent the toes from rubbing against the shoe. Adidas invests heavily in footwear technology, hence it is of utmost importance that you as our esteemed customer will not compromise on cheap quality footwear. This applies also to young children, who at this tender age should have footwear that enables their feet to be well supported and have adequate room to grow healthily.

Footscan Technology

What is Footscan?

A footscan is the method by which we examine the biomechanics of the feet. We use the Adidas Footscan system for gait analysis. The Adidas Footscan system is a high-precision digital force platform that can provide a dynamic, weight-bearing computerized assessment of the biomechanics of a person's feet. The system measures the weight distribution at all contact points along the bottom surface of the foot. It measures and analyses the way a person walks because the way we walk can cause potential problems with the rest of the body.

What are the advantages of having a Footscan Analysis?

There is a lot of information that can be retrieved by having a foot scan. For example by looking at the results of a person's foot scan we would be able to better understand why a person may be suffering recurrent pain. If a person's feet are sore first thing in the morning or they have pain in the ball of their feet while walking, the scan will tell us why these things are likely occuring.

Who needs a Footscan Analysis?

The people who require pressure assessment using the Footscan system are mostly athletes and people who are continuously on their feet or people with a biomechanical problem such as flatfeet. It is important to note however that people (especially children) with mild / moderate biomechanical pathology may not notice the problem or give it no importance unless it is painful. Unfortunately this will often result in painful symptoms later in life. With the Footscan system these pathologies can be detected earlier in life so that more serious problems can be prevented with the appropriate orthotic prescription.
